Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc: Focus on developing wind power

Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc noted and highly appreciated that Conference to create opportunities for economic development to push Tra Vinh province to the position of focal point in seafood processing in the Mekong Delta.

According to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, high-tech agriculture of the province is able to integrate internationally because Tra Vinh has a well-planned synchronous infrastructure. Moreover, Tra Vinh is crossed by Tien River and Hau River so the trade with other localities in the area is very favorable.

The Prime Minister thought of the economic development adapting to climate change in Tra Vinh. Moreover, consideration should be given to link the value chain and high-tech agriculture development; aquaculture- based investment promotion. At the same time, the development of eco-tourism, wind energy, solar energy and regional links with Soc Trang and Ben Tre is recommended. Large potential renewable energy sources such as wind power, solar power, and tropical temperate climate are suitable for  tropical agricultural products," suggested the Prime Minister. “We want to listen, share with investors to find out the difficulties and challenges. Moreover, the Government always keeps macro-economy stable, peaceful, and secures the investment right of investors," affirmed the Prime Minister.

In addition, the Prime Minister said that Tra Vinh is a crossroads of many cultures, a multi-identity society with cultural depth with many temples existing for centuries. Therefore, the key issue is how to attract more investors so that they deeply understand the land, people and culture. Thereby, promoting the strength of marine economy, culture, tourism.

At the conference, the Danish ambassador in Vietnam highly appreciated the bilateral cooperation relations over the past time. "A comprehensive partnership agreement has pushed the groundwork for the two countries' relationship to a new height," said the Danish ambassador.

Mr. Tran Tri Dung, the Secretary of the Tra Vinh provincial Party Committee, said that six solutions and missions would be implemented in the coming time to attract investors.

Firstly, to well mobilize resources for investment and construction of infrastructure; To speed up the restructure of the province's economy in association with the renewal of the growth model with focus on restructuring the agriculture in association with building new rural areas, to boost the development of industry, construction, trade and service. It makes the best efforts in achieve an average annual growth rate of 11% -12% for GRDP; and GRDP per capita reached USD 3,200 by 2020

Secondly, to fundamentally and comprehensively renovate education and training, to raise the quality of human resources; To step up the development and application of science and technology; to build culture and people; To improve the people's healthcare quality; To well implement social welfare policies; To strengthen resource management, environmental protection, natural disaster prevention, climate change, sea level rise.

Thirdly, to firmly consolidate the people's defense and security posture, to build a firm-hearted posture, to firmly maintain political security and social order and safety control, and to create a stable environment for social economic development

Fourthly, to step up administrative reforms, judicial reforms, to build the officers and staff with high qualification, capacity and sense of responsibilities.

Fifthly, to renew the work of mobilizing the people, to promote the mastership rights of the people, to build the great national unity block, to strengthen and strengthen the social consensus.
