Hai Phong follows the principle of not collecting fees for the use of the sea area, in order to survey to serve the preparation of additional planning documents for the offshore wind power plant project on Bach Long Vy island with an estimated installed capacity of 3,300 MW.
The area of the sea area that this investor wants to use is about 60,000 ha (600 km2), within 24 months from the date on which it is approved in writing by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
The offshore wind power plant project on Bach Long Vy island or Bach Long offshore wind farm has the scale of building and operating 3,300 MW of offshore wind power. The project is invested in 2 phases, in which phase 1 has a capacity of 800 MW and will be put into operation in 2030; Phase 2 with a capacity of 2,500 MW will be put into operation in 2035.
The total investment capital of the project is 256,000 billion VND (about 11 billion USD). Capital sources are arranged by enterprises and borrowed from domestic and foreign credit institutions.
Bitexco Energy Joint Stock Company proposes to build a 500kV/220kV substation on the mainland (expected in Tien Lang district - Hai Phong), a 220kV station on Bach Long Vi island and deploy a 500kV connection line to the 500kV Hai Phong substation as well as to build a 220kV underground cable line from the 220kV substation on the island to the mainland.
