At the meeting, Mr. Wong Kim Yin - General Director of Sembcorp thanked PVN's leaders in recent years for their interest and for creating favorable conditions for Sembcorp to study and research cooperation opportunities with the Group and its member units. . In particular, PVN has supported Sembcorp as the investor of Dung Quat 2 gas power plant project in the Blue Whale project chain.
On this occasion, Sembcorp's leaders introduced some areas of Sembcorp's activities: Currently, Sembcorp is focusing on promoting the development of renewable energy. With its capacity and experience, Sembcorp expressed its desire to seek cooperation opportunities with PVN and its member units: Cooperation in developing renewable electricity (wind and solar power; taking advantage of energy farms). existing regeneration and output optimization); Improve the efficiency and reliability of the power system; Technology and capacity transfer.
On behalf of PVN leaders, Chairman Hoang Quoc Vuong thanked and highly appreciated Sembcorp's activities in contributing to promoting energy transformation in Vietnam.
At the meeting, PVN Chairman Hoang Quoc Vuong shared with Sembcorp's leaders an overview of the Group's activities and development strategy in the coming time: PVN aims to become a leading energy group in the country. and the region, giving priority to the expansion and development of sustainable clean energy sources for the country such as Natural gas/LNG, offshore wind power, hydrogen, and green ammonia; contribute towards the big goal of the Government of Vietnam in implementing the commitment to net zero emissions by 2050.
President Hoang Quoc Vuong emphasized that the year 2023 will mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Singapore, marking an essential development in the strategic relationship between Vietnam and Singapore. Vietnam and Singapore promote bilateral relations and raise the strategic relationship.
At the same time, it is expected that soon, Sembcorp and PVN will continue to research and seek cooperation opportunities in projects to develop offshore wind farms, connect ASEAN power grids, develop green hydrogen and save energy. energy storage to stabilize the power grid, bringing benefits to both sides, and actively contributing to strengthening the cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Singapore.
